Now that we have eliminated the Common Tasks Sidebar, let’s add some helpful buttons to the toolbar.

 

 

Tip:  Move your cursor up to the toolbar and right click.  From the dropdown menu, click on customize.  A Customize Toolbar Window will open.  On the left you will see Available toolbar buttons:  On the right you will see Current toolbar buttons:  In the middle you will see two buttons, Add -> and <- Remove. At the bottom of the window you will see two dropdown selections:  Text options:  Icon options:

 

On the left, let’s scroll down until we see “Copy To”.  Click on it to highlight and then click on Add -> in the center of the window.  It will now move to the right side.

 

Go back on the left side and find “Move To” and repeat the above step.

 

Now go to the bottom of the window and make the selections to meet your preferences.  When done click close and the new icons will appear on your toolbar ready to use.

 

Note:  There are two other buttons on the right side of the window: Move Up and Move Down.  If you highlight one of the icons in the right window and click on the Move Up or Move Down buttons, your icons will change position on the toolbar.

 

Now when you highlight an item in an open window you can click on one of these buttons and select to copy or move a file or folder anywhere you like.
