Quick Tip
015-2007
By adding a folder to the Send To list, you can easily copy files to another folder with a couple of clicks of your mouse.
TIP: Click on Start. When the menu opens make a note of the user name that is on top of the menu, (Administrator, Owner, Your Name, Etc). Now click on My Computer. When the window opens, click on Tools > Folder Options. Next select the View tab. Under the Advanced Settings, look down the list until you see “Show hidden files and folders” and click in the radio button next to it. Now click OK. This takes you back to the My Computer Window.
Now double click on Local Disk (C:), double click on Documents and Settings, double click on the USER NAME you found on top of the Start Menu, and finally, double click on the Send To Folder.
When the Send To Folder Window opens, click on File, click on New and then click on Shortcut. The Create Shortcut Wizard will appear. Click on the Browse button, and in the Browse For Folder dialog box, click on the folder you want to add to your Send To list. Click Next, type a new name for this folder or use the existing name. Last, click on Finish.
Now when you right click a file and click Send To, you will be able to send the file to the destination you added.
Add as many destinations as you want to the Send To list and when you are finished go back to Tools > Folder Options, click the View Tab, look down the list and click on the radio button next to, “Do Not Show Hidden Files or Folders”, click OK.
