How to identify cables and transformers easily?

TIP:  When you get a new item with a detachable cable or transformer immediately make a label identifying the item with a Dyno label maker, a peel and stick label, or a sharpie and masking tape.  Attach the label around the cable or transformer cord securely and then, in the future, you will be able to identify what the item is used for immediately.

NOTE:  Do not attach a label directly on a transformer because the heat generated by the transformer could melt the glue on the label and it will fall off.
