I’m Feeling Lucky

Have you seen this on the Google Home Page or on the Google Tool Bar?  What does it mean and how do I use it.

TIP:  If you are on the Google Home Page and type the name of the web site you wish to visit in the query box, omitting the www and the dot com, gov, or org and click on the I’m Feeling Lucky button you will, in most cases, be taken directly to the web site.

If you have the Google Toolbar, look next to the G in the query box for a drop down arrow.  Click on the arrow and a menu will appear.  Click on I’m Feeling Lucky and the G turns into a shamrock.  Now type in your web site address without the www or the dot whatever and you will again, in most cases, be taken to your requested web site.
