Wireless Intellimouse
Explorer
A Review by Kay Lehman
Now that I have
had the experience of using the Mouse for several weeks, I feel that I can
report accurately my personal assessment of its
usefulness.
Installation:
The compact disc
which came with the Mouse worked instantly to install the program. The disc installed three information
sections: one on the Mouse properties, a second, called the Microsoft healthy
computing guide, and a third, the User's guide. Each of these, to the new user, is
essential.
Assessment - I
found the installation process smooth except for the fact that the Mouse
Properties list (under customize mouse settings) does not provide a line of
choice for IntelliPoint 5.0.
Wireless
Feature:
About nine weeks
before I started use of the Wireless Mouse, I was unfortunate enough to break
both my wrists. The new Mouse
afforded me complete flexibility of movement and no need for special strength in
the fingers.
Assessment - This
feature is priceless! This feature
should be most beneficial to the frail elderly and to young children. Both these age groups should be informed
of these benefits.
Improvements
Desired:
For myself, I
would like the two top buttons on the left of the Mouse to be of equal length.
This would help my thumb when I am
working.
Assessment - The
shaping of the Mouse is appropriate except for the small size of the anterior
upper button.
Summary:
From a
comprehensive viewpoint, I find the IntelliPoint Mouse a very superior product.
I would recommend it heartily to
other computer users.
